The Strength of the Lord
Devotions:
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
Ephesians 6:10-13 KJV
“Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob. Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.”
Psalms 81:1-2 KJV
To be strong in the Lord and the power of His might you must realize and know that the Lord is your strength. How are we to be strong in the Lord? Through what we say. The Psalmist says to be loud with psalms and singing unto God. We are also no be loud in our praise of God and what He has done for us. We are to give Him praise that He never leaves us or forsakes us. It is only when we are bold in our praise and thanksgiving with our words and our songs that we are able to stand against the enemy.
Paul starts the book of Ephesians talking about our seating with Christ in the heavenlies, then from our seating our walk as we walk out who we are in Christ. These two must come first before you can stand before the enemy and walk in the victory. If we do not know who we are in Christ and the victory that He has won for us, the enemy will defeat us with condemnation and sin consciousness. Having done all to stand is to know who we are and what we have and to walk it out in our day to day life.
