Lying Vanities

“They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.”

‭‭Jonah‬ ‭2:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Our circumstances are subject to change and when we pay more attention to them than we do to the eternal things we will forsake our own mercy.  God's mercy is laid up for all of us but it takes faith to receive that mercy.  That is we must believe in the mercy more than the negative circumstances.  When we consider the curse that tries to dominate us whether it be sickness and disease or poverty or calamity, more than Jesus who has paid the full price for our redemption and redeemed us from the curse of sickness and disease, poverty, calamity we will forsake our own mercy.  We must esteem the word of God above all of our circumstances and past experience or the experience of others.  Anything that contradicts the word of God is a lying vanity.  God's desire is that we walk in His mercies and not believe the lies of the devil.
