Speak No Evil

 August 30, 2017

Devotions:

“To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.” Titus‬ ‭3:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Based on our redemptions in Christ Jesus Paul tells us how to act because of who we are. When we speak evil of a Christian we are speaking evil of Jesus. We are the body of Christ. If we speak evil of an unbeliever then we are speaking evil of someone who was made in the image of God though defiled by sin.  We should find something good to say about everyone. Even if what we say is true if it is not good or nice then we should not say it.  Our response to people who are doing something wrong is to pray for them like we would like someone to pray for us when we get snared by the enemy.

“Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:16-17‬ ‭KJV

When we look at ourselves and each other we are to see Christ. We must train ourselves to see by the eyes of the spirit and not our natural eyes. When we judge another we are judging the law, we are judging Christ. When we walk in love, love covers a multitude of sins, we walk in unity.
