Faith Acts
Devotions:
As we meditate on the word of God our confidence in God increases. We gain a witness in our hearts of the truth of His word but it does not become alive until we act on what we believe. Faith is acting on what we believe to be true. If we are not willing to act on the witness that is in our hearts through our confessions and through ore corresponding actions then we will not see the fruit of what we believe. Our corresponding actions are acting like what we believe to be true, is true.
“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” James 2:17-22, 26 KJV
A better word for works here is corresponding actions. If you believe that you are healed then act healed and do not sit around and wait for the healing to manifest. As you believe so you shall act. We many times have the agreement that something is true but we are unwilling to act like it is true . Because we really do not believe it. Faith is willing to risk everything to say that what you believe is true.
