Flee Sexual Immorality

Devotions:
“For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God;” 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 NASB
Sin will steal God's best from us. This is why God hates it. Augustus said that there is a vacuum in the heart of every man that only God can fill. Professionals who work with people that are co-dependent describe co-dependency this way, everyone has a love tank that only the love of God can fill. As we are growing up our parents, by their love for us are to point us to God because only God can truly fill that love tank. Our sin is our trying to fill that love tank with something other than God. Sexual immorality is our cry to fill the void with a relationship that only God can properly fill.
Jesus conquered sin for us and opened the door to righteousness that we could have that truly intimate relationship with our Creator. Sexual intimacy in marriage is God ordained but even then our completeness is in God and not in our spouse. Without the spiritual fulfillment with God our releationship with our spouse is in peril.
As single we are to be pure in our relationships with others and in our thinking about others.
“Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts, and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.” Romans 6:12-14 NASB
