Covenant Love
Devotions:
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 KJV
God does not just tell us that He loves us, he demonstrates it. The ultimate demonstration was when Jesus went to the Corss and though innocent, died for all our sins, the just for the unjust. He paid the ultimate price to show His love for us.
God introduced the concept of the blood covenant which is an agreement which cannot be altered not annulled and it is sealed in the blood of the participants. By sealing it in blood they were swearing that even if it took the last drop of their blood to fulfill the agreement then they would give even their own. Blood. Jesus entered into a blood covenant with the Father on our behalf and shed His precious blood to fulfill the agreement for us. In the new birth when we receive His life we become partakers of that covenant that the Father and the Son cut for us so because of the sacrifice of Jesus we are eternally in that covenant relationship with the Father. The covenant states that wll that the Father has is mine if I need it. All I have to do is ask for it. It also means that all that I have is at the Father's disposal if He asks for it. This understanding is seen when God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac on the altar. Abraham went without questioning or complaining because his blood covenant partner asked something of him and he was obligated to give it. This is the love of the Father in manifestation. In Christ God has provided everything that we will ever need for our asking but all that we are is at His availability as He needs it.
