The Ark
Devotions:
In the Old Testament the Law said that the Ark of the Covenant was to be carried only on the shoulders of the priest. When David tried to have the Ark carried on a wagon a man died. The Ark of the Covenant was where the presence of God rested. In the Holy of Holies in the tabernacle only the Ark of the Covenant rested and the only light was the presence of God. Only the high priest could enter once a year with the blood of atonement and if the sacrifice was not acceptable, the priest would drop dead.
Our high priest has appeared before the Heavenly Ark with the blood of the perfect sacrifice, once and forever for us. Jesus made us kings and priest before our Father. In order to fulfill our office as kings we must fulfill our office as priest. He office of priest is to minister to God. As we minister to God, His presence manifest with His power. His presence is our blessing. We are to praise and thank Him for who He is, Lord God Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth. We are to praise and thank Him for what He has done for us in salvation. As His presence comes upon us we then act as kings.
