Forgiven

Devotions:

God created us to be with Him.  When Adam turned away from God by believing Satan rather than God was greatly grieved. But God had a plan to restore the unity between His man and Him. God's plan was in place before He created mankind.

“And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” ‭Revelation‬ ‭13:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Adam's sin did not surprise God.  He had made provision for sin before He created the world. In the mind of God you were forgiven even before you were created.  Jesus still had to come to consumate the forgiveness.

All the forgiveness in the Old Covenant and before was looking forward to the cross of Jesus.  In God's mind it was a completed fact because God operates in faith. Faith sees what it is believing for as completed even before it becomes manifest.

In the New Covenant Jesus has already gone to the cross so our sins are already forgiven and a completed fact. One of the basic tenants of grace is that we are forgiven past, present and future in fact the sins of the world are already forgiven.  The issue is no longer sin but what do we do with Jesus. All sin has negative repercussions but God's judgement was laid on Jesus. There is therefore no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Jesus died to restore us to our Father.
