Devotions:

“And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.” ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭12:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The deliverance from the land of Egypt was a picture. of our deliverance from sin. Our sin is the hold that the devil had over us because he could take it to the court of heaven and get a judgement against us if there was no one to plead our case.  The first Passover they were to take an unblemished lamb and kill it, pour the blood at the foot of the outside door and splash it on the top mantle and the two side door post making the sign of a cross.  This was a type of our redemption by the blood of Jesus on the cross.  When the blood was sprinkled then the curse of death could not enter that house. God said that He would see the blood and passover.

Not only does the blood of Jesus take us out of the enemies hands but it also completely satisfies every offense that we have against God.  Just as the blood of the innocent lamb saved the Israelites from the death of their first born but it also set them free from the bondage of Egypt. This was the final judgement against their masters and against the false God's of Egypt. God wanted not only to set them free from Egypt, He also wanted them to be set free from their gods.

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.”

‭‭John‬ ‭16:7-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Satan has already been judged and found guilty by Jesus.
