God's Provision

Devotions:
In Matthew 6: 19-34 Jesus teaches about God's total provision and our total reliance upon God. In verse 33 He says that our focus is not to focus or even be concerned about our daily needs. We are to walk in the righteousness of the kingdom of God. We are in the kingdom not by our own effort or merit but through the work of Jesus. Our righteousness is not through our own work but through His. We are to rest in the love of the Father and His abundant provision for us. The only limitation is what our own mind restricts it to be.
To be in the kingdom is to be like our Father. He made us that way in the new birth. Love motivates our Father to give. His love for us then is our motivation to be givers. Because of our Fathers provision, we have no sense of lack and we demonstrate this by being lavish givers. We must have the reality of the abundance of our Father's provision for us dwelling in our hearts so we are not hoping for our Father's provision but we are assured of His provision and are expecting it.
God feeds the common house sparrow better than we can feed ourselves, are we not worth much more than they in the eyes of the Father. God paints the lilies of the field more beautiful than Solomon could cloth himself in all of his wisdom. The grass is here today and tomorrow burned up in a furnace. We are of more value than grass.
We must realize how precious we are in the eyes of our Father. He has given us the birds and the lilies to show us what He is willing to do for something of lesser value than us. Birds and lilies cannot choose to believe God and to trust in His provision, they just partake of it. We can make a willful choice in faith. Not blind faith because we have the birds and lilies given as testimonies to His faithfully and Love!
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
Hebrews 11:6 KJV
