Dead To The World

Devotions:

“But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.” ‭Galatians‬ ‭6:14-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The glory of our salvation is that we have died to the world and the world has died to us. If we will walk in the spirit and not by the flesh, the world cannot affect us. It is when we give an occasion to our flesh that we open the door to the temptations of the world. Jesus was not affected by temptations because me kept His flesh under subjection to His spirit and He knew who He was beyond a shadow of a doubt.

It is not our religious activity that matters to God and our salvation but it us recognizing who we are, a new creation in Christ. That new creation is holy and righteous just like Jesus. That is why we must maintain our torrid love affair with Jesus and not allow it to grow cold. Jesus is the source of our salvation. We are not to be affected by the world and react to the onslaught of Satan but we are to act on the word of God and on the leading of His Spirit. We have the victory in Christ, we enforce that victory by faith.
