Working Out Your Salvation

Devotions:

“being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” ‭Philippians‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God is doing the work of salvation. We are just to cooperate with Him. The Holy Spirit reveals to us what Jesus’ finished work looks like in us so that we might believe and so act. In Christ our salvation is a finished work. God is bringing it to fruition in us. We cannot save ourselves but God has committed Himself to manifest our salvation within us. We are changed from glory to glory as we gaze upon the glory of the Lord. We just like Him and we are continually making the adjustment of putting off the old man, the old way of thinking like a sinner and putting on the new man, the new way of thinking as a Son of the Most High God.

“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings: that ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.” ‭Philippians‬ ‭2:12-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬
