Established In Love

Devotions:

          “that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,” ‭Ephesians‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” Romans‬ ‭5:5‬ ‭KJV‬

We already have the love of God in our hearts but we need to be established in that love. The foundation of the Ten Commandments is to love God and to love our neighbor. The Old Testament saints could not do that because they were still in their sins. But we have been born again in the image of our Father, the image of love but out minds have been programmed by sin to believe that God does not really love us because we have sinned. But God demonstrated His love for us that when were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 In first John we are told that we love because God first loved us and demonstrated that love in the passion and death of Jesus. 

We need to be rooted and grounded in God’s love for us. Galatians 5:6 says that faith works by love. The more we know of the Father’s love for us the greater our faith should be in His word and the greater our love will be for Him and His creation. God loved us inspire of ourselves. When we are fixed in His love we no longer have a fear of retribution from God. If we step out away from God’s will, we become targets of the enemy but God is there to help us out of our dilemma.
