Turning To Idols

“Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.” Romans 1:22-23 KJV
People that did not honor God in their hearts by giving Him the glory due Him, God gave them over to a vain, dark heart. Because they thought themselves wiser than God but instead they were fools. They were believing and acting like God did not exist. A fool says in his heart that there is no God. In their descent to destruction they changed the one true living God for the form of corruptible man, birds, four footed animals and creeping things. That is they worshipped anything but the living God. When you reject God you will still end up worshipping something and that something is not God but an idol. These idols become that habitation of demons that carry people further and further into degradation.
People do not start out worshipping idols but because they reject God they go down a path of self destruction. When you reject the truth, the only thing left is a lie. Truth sets you free, lies put you in bondage and keeps you there. Instead of being carriers of the glory of the one true living God, they bear the degradation and defilement of the devil.
