Resurrection

Devotions:
When Jesus died on the cross, we died with Him. When He was raised from the dead, we were raised with Him and when He ascended to appear before the Father to be seated at the right hand of God, we ascended with Him and were seated at the right hand of the Father with Jesus. The message of the New Testament believers was the Jesus rose from the dead. In His resurrection Jesus obtained the keys of death and hell. We were set free from the bondage of sin and brought into the newness of life. Our salvation is totally dependent upon the work of Christ and not on our work. The word of God creates faith in us to receive what God has done. We grow in faith by growing in the word of God. Our tendency is for us to think that we must do something like act right, for God to be pleased with us. God is pleased with us because of what Jesus did. We are in Christ and as the Father is pleased with Christ, He is pleased with us. What changes our behavior and causes us to act right is when we discover who we are, dead and Christ lives within us. We keep trying to fix up the man of sin. Jesus did not come to reform the man of sin but to kill him and give us His life. Jesus’ resurrection was our resurrection in newness of life. We celebrate Jesus’ resurrection today, we are also celebrating our resurrection from the dead into the life of God.
“and that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.” 2 Corinthians 5:15 KJV
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 KJV
