“Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can. So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭27:65-66‬ ‭KJV‬‬

After Jesus was crucified, He was placed in a tomb and the tomb was sealed by the Roman soldiers. Satan was saying that all of the sin and corruption of mankind was permanently sealed in mankind. The Savior had been killed and all hope was gone. In that tomb with Jesus was sealed all of our sin, murder, sexual sin, pornography, lying, cheating, even the grossest sins, all sealed in the tomb. Mankind was stuck with them forever.

But on the third day after the crucifixion Jesus rose from the grave. The angles opened the tomb to show Mary and the others that Jesus was no longer there. Jesus had paid the price to redeem us and set us free from all of this self destructive behavior. The Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead. Romans 5, Paul says that it was the glory of the Father that raised Jesus from the dead. In His resurrection Jesus overcame all of the curse for us. He came out of the tomb free from all our sickness, disease, sin, poverty, all of the curse. When He rose from the dead, we rose with Him. He rose free from Satan’s domain we were set free from Satan’s domain. No more sickness, no more sin that could hold us in bondage, no more poverty. Jesus left them in the grave and that is where we should leave them. We died with Him, the old man of sin is dead so that sin no longer has any power over us unless we do not believe that we, the man of sin is dead and the life we now live is Christ in us the hope of glory.

“that we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:12-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

As Satan tried to seal our fate at the tomb, Jesus sealed our fate with the Holy Spirit to secure us in our walk with Him. When we stumble, the Holy Spirit is there to pick us up, not to condemn us. We have been set free.
