“In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” John 7:37-38 KJV
“And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.”
Revelation 22:17 KJV
“Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.” Isaiah 55:1-2 KJV
Jesus said that the one qualification for becoming satisfied is thirst. How thirsty are you for the manifest presence of God? Too often our spiritual senses have been dulled by the things of the world. Our flesh is tickled with the counterfeit to the presence of God so that we do not recognize our need for the real thing, the presence of God. Only God. Is good and only God can satisfy our soul. god. Gives the invitation but we must recognize our thirst in order to partake.
We cannot manufacture a thirst for God but one thing that we can do is to start speaking our thirst as if we possess it because we do in our spirit. Some think that confessing as real that which is not yet manifest in our experience is lying. But God calls those things that be not as though they were, Romans 4. And we are to do the same thing. So we say, “I hunger and thirst for God and to know Him more.” As we confess this to ourselves throughout the day we will find that our hunger and thirst for God will surface in our lives and will direct our steps.
“A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; And with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:20-21 KJV
