Success In Life

“Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: he is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.” ‭Luke‬ ‭6:47-49‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Our lives are a mess and a wreck because we did not do what Jesus told us to do, build our lives on being a doer of His word. Some Christians do not even understand what Jesus is saying here. They think that they are to build their lives on Jesus, but how? God has given us a path of life that if we take Him seriously and follow what He says we will succeed. 

So many Christians look like the world in their marriage, in their finances, in their family, in their health in fact in every area of their lives. They have God within them but they are not aware of His presence or His offer of help in their lives. When trouble comes they look to the natural to solve their problems. They put pressure on their friends or people that they know that they think will help them to get out of their problem. 

If they would just take the time to hear Jesus’ teaching and do them they would withstand the storms of life and succeed. It is when we do not take the time to hear Jesus’ words or we do not do them that when the storms come we collapse because of he storm and end up on the trash heap of life. God gave us His word because He wants us to succeed in life.
