“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.”
Matthew 5:9 KJV
Biblical peace is not the lack of conflict. Biblical peace is nothing lacking and nothing broken. It is wholeness. Peacemakers are called the children of God because this is the activity of God, to restore back to the original creation everything that Satan has tried to destroy. This is our job, to tell others about salvation in Jesus, to demonstrate God’s healing, to restore the broken hearted, to declare to the captives that they are now free, and to set at liberty them that are bruised. To be a peacemaker we must first be at peace with God. God has made peace with us through Jesus but we must accept what God had done and know it. Many who have received Jesus as Savior and Lord think that He is still angry with them and with the world. But God made peace through the cross with the world. Our job, peacemakers, is to get the world to make peace with God.
“And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.”
2 Corinthians 5:18-20 KJV
A peacemaker is a soul winner, bringing many outcast into reconciliation with God through the help of the Holy Spirit and the work of Jesus on the cross.
