Persecutions

Devotions:

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Matthew 5:10-12

“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”

‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We live in the world where the enemy still tries to dominate and he is in opposition to the gospel. He tries to shut down the preaching of the gospel. He hates the people who are living in the good news. We try to avoid persecution but the only way to avoid persecution is to be quiet and hide. Then we are not fulfilling the great commission. So we should be prepared for the persecution and be prepared to overcome it with love. Our commission is not to fight those who would persecute us but to win them to the gospel through the demonstration of the love of God. There are great rewards with God when we endure persecution with the right attitude. We need to take our focus off the discomfort of the persecution and keep it on the rewards that are ours. Those rewards are the people who are won to the Lord because we were willing to suffer the persecution in order to demonstrate to them the love of God and convince them to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior.
