Devotions:

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” ‭‭John‬ ‭15:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We all have an assignment on the earth. Many are seeking to live a life of comfort and ease but the world is full of trouble and woes. Our assignment is to spread the good news of he kingdom of God to a world who have never heard. We are called to demonstrate God’s goodness as Jesus did. Jesus chose us and set us apart be successful. Earlier in John 15 Jesus tells us that if we abide in the vine we will produce His fruit. He is the vine and we are the branches. To abide in the vine we are to be people of the word of God and the Spirit. Jesus anointed us with the Holy Spirit to bring about His results. It is not hard work, we spend time rejoicing in His goodness and mercy that are showered upon us as we walk in His way. Obedience is the key factor as we joyfully do His will.

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.” ‭John‬ ‭15:5, 7-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Our fruit producing is a product of the word of God planted in our hearts. We then do strive to produce the fruit but we cultivate the word of God. As we focus on meditate on the word and stay focused on the word, not allowing the deceitful of riches, or the cares of the world nor the desire for other things to choke the word, it will produce in your life the kingdom in your soul. We possess the kingdom of God in our spirits already but to get the full advantage of the kingdom we must have our soul transformed by the word.
