Believe And Speak God’s Word

Devotions:
“But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Romans 10:6-10 KJV
“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;” 2 Corinthians 4:13 KJV
Here Paul tells us how to release our faith, through the words that we speak. When we speak we need to listen to ourselves speak because that will tell us what we really believe. It is not just speaking the right words, it is what is in our hearts that comes out our mouth. We can say all the right words and see no results because we really do not believe what we are saying in our hearts.
Many will say that God’s word is true but when it gets down to specifics they really do not believe that God’s word it truth, they are just making a general theological statement. If you told them that they do not believe God’s word, they would fight you with all their might to say that they do believe. They believe that there is a God but they believe that you cannot really know Him.
If you say that, “I hope that God has heard me.” Then you really do not believe God’s word. But the word is near to us, in our hearts and in our mouth. So we have been trained to not believe God’s word and we must retrain ourselves to believe what God has said.
