Rid of Sin

The root of all of mankind's problems and misery is sin. God's salvation is to set us free from sin. In His word He reveals to us how to walk but there is no power to preform. The Old Testament just revealed sin but could not provide any solution. When Jesus died for our sins, He gave us His proven life that by it we might walk free from sin. His death set us free from the penalty of sin and His abiding life within us sets free from the power of sin. This is His grace towards us but we must access it through our faith.

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. Romans 5:10 KJV

Jesus came to set us free from sin and empower us to live separated from sin. "Whom the Son sets free is free indeed." John 8:37

Because sin is a curse we should have a bitter taste in our mouth even at the mention of it. My flesh wants to sin but my spirit recoils at the thought of sin. So if we feed our flesh and mind we will give into sin and regret it, but if we feed our spirit on the promises of God our spirit will rule us and we will walk free with God.
