Things To Come

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.” ‭John‬ ‭16:13-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The Spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit has come. We are born of the Spirit and we are filled with the Spirit. He knows the heart of the Father and wants to reveal to us the heart of the Father. He wants to show us all the wonderful things that the Father has for us. He will show us all that Jesus did for us and the treasure that He has in store for us who believe.

In the Old Testament in order to get direction from God you had to go to a prophet or a priest or king. They are the only ones with the anointing. In the New Testament we are led by the Spirit who resides within us He wants to show us thing to come in our lives. So we are not to go to a prophet and ask about our future or what we are to do we are to wait on the Lord. The Holy Spirit will show us things to come in our lives that will help us succeed. I cannot hear from God for you or anyone else. I hear from God for myself. Prophets and prophesies will confirm what the Lord is telling me but if I do not have an inner witness then I am to put aside what has been told me in the prophesy. We should seek to know the inner witness of the Holy Spirit in our hearts.
