Faith In The Word Of God Sets Us Free

Devotions:

          The church is word anemic. We think that prayer will do what only the word of God will do. Many Christians are dying trying to receive healing, praying and asking others to pray for their healing. But it is faith in the word of God and acting on that faith. We need to focus on the provision that God has made us in Christ Jesus. We miss receiving because we spend all of our time asking God to do what He has already done. If we are asking God to do what He has already done we are not receiving His finished work. As we meditate on the word of God we see it is in the past tense. God finished everything on the cross of Jesus and His resurrection.

        The enemy tries to get us into the attitude of trying to get God to give us what He has already done. God finished our salvation in Jesus. God wants us to receive His truth and act like it is true.

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

This verse is the key to receiving all that God has procured for us in Jesus. Our prayers are ineffective unless they are backed by faith. Faith only comes by hearing the word of God.
