God’s Provision

Devotions:

We pray and do not seem to get an answer so we take that as a no or God is unwilling to hear and answer our prayer. God’s willingness was demonstrated once and for all in Jesus voluntarily going to the cross to pay for our sins and then rose victoriously to give us total victory over the enemy.

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” ‭Romans‬ ‭8:31-32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We pray and hope that God will hear us. We end up trying to convince God to do what He has already done.. That is not faith it is hope and manipulation. Faith sees our answer to our need as a finished work in Christ passion. We then act on what we already know to be true contrary to our circumstances. Our circumstances are subject to change but God’s word never changes. The word of God is of a greater realty than our circumstances or the world around us.

“while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

As we take time to feed on the word of God we begin to see what is already ours. We feed until we become fully persuaded as Abraham was.

“he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.” ‭Romans‬ ‭4:20-21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When we are fully persuaded that God’s word is true for us, we will see ourselves as the healed, as the blessed of God, our every need provided for. Instead of trying to get out from underneath the curse we know that we are delivered already in spite of what we experienced. By faith we change our circumstances.
