Waiting On God

Devotions:

“Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: but they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” ‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:30-31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When we operate under our own strength we run out of energy and fail. The spirit realm is stronger than the physical realm. Even the young people will get worn out. If we are burned out in our life, in our ministry it is because we are operating under our own ability rather than God’s ability. We might ever being operating under part of God’s ability but then some under our own ability. When we hear from God and obey, His anointing is present to sustain and empower us. When we step outside of His instructions and add to it. Is when we get into trouble.

When we wait on the Lord and His leading and His directions is when we operate in His strength and we will fulfill His course.

The last good king of Judah, Josiah, was blessed of the Lord in all that he did. But when the king of Egypt came through to go fight another country and Josiah opposed him, Josiah died early. God had told Josiah that he would die in peace. Josiah had stepped away from God’s direction and did not enquirer of God whether he should go against the king of Egypt but presumed on the blessing of the Lord, he was defeated and killed.

It is important then that we take time and wait on the Lord to hear from Him and then do what He says.
