Drinking From The Wells Of Salvation
July 27, 2022
Devotions:
“Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”
John 4:13-14 KJV
Our problem is that we only drink until we are satisfied and then go our own way. We should stay drinking at the well that never runs dry daily, not just when we think we will need it. This well produces living water. In the natural living water was an artesian well that you did not need to pump. It just came to the surface naturally and flowed of its own accord.
Here Jesus is referring to the new birth, which is a well of life that will bubble up naturally and flow if it is unhindered. We hinder His life within us, that we received when we were born again, by out wrong thinking. Our thinking that says that our salvation rest upon us and how we act. Our salvation rest on Jesus and He will empower us to act in righteousness. If we do not get it perfect we go to Him and see where we did not yield to His grace.
“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.” Isaiah 12:2-3 KJV
We need to joyfully drink liberally from the wells of salvation every day, through out the day. We do this through our praise and thanksgiving, especially when we do not feel like doing it.
