God, Our Salvation

Devotions:

        God does not give us salvation, He is our salvation. We cannot have His blessing apart from Him. Jesus has opened the door to the presence of the Father so that we might boldly enter into His presence to receive the fullness of His blessing. Some think that God puts us through evil to punish us but all punishment fell on Jesus on the cross for the whole world. For those who receive the goodness and mercy of God there is only good from Him. The enemy here on earth tries to make miserable every human being on the earth because he hates God and His creation. God has granted us the authority and power to overcome every temptation. Just as it is God’s provision and desire for us to walk in healing so it is His provision and desire for us to walk free from all sin. This is that for which Jesus died.

“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

We are free because we died with Him, were buried and rose to newness of life with Jesus. We need to meditate on this until it is down in our hearts and replaces the picture in our imagination of our being sinners. We received of His righteousness. When that is secure in our hearts we will stop seeing ourselves as sinners and stop acting like sinners.
