God, Our Salvation

Devotions:
“He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: He taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man. The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, In those that hope in his mercy. Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; Praise thy God, O Zion.” Psalm 147:10-12 KJV
The trouble with humans and salvation is that we want to take credit, at least in part, for our salvation. But we cannot save ourselves. When we try we get in the way of the Lord. We need to realize that real strength is in the spiritual realm, not in the physical or mental realm. We are not capable of saving ourselves. When we look to our own strength we will fail every time.
God has made complete provision for our salvation and He is the only one who can successfully accomplish it. When we honor Him by believing in His provision of salvation through Jesus Christ. The fear of the Lord is to honor Him for all He is and all He has done for us. We look to Him for all our salvation. The part that we play is to hear and believe what He has done for us. We are to trust in and take pleasure in His salvation. As we take pleasure in God’s salvation for us, He takes pleasure in us. he loves everyone, even sinners. It is His pleasure when we acknowledge our need to totally depend upon Him.
