The blessings Of God Are Ours

Devotions:

          Deuteronomy 28: 1-14 is for the believer. Deuteronomy 28: 15-67 is for the unbelief’s.

          Jesus did everything perfectly.  He perfectly pleased His Father in everything. Jesus totally fulfilled Deuteronomy 28: 1-14 in every aspect. All of the blessings that are listed there, Jesus walked in them.  He was blessed in everything that He did, in everything He was extremely blessed. We see Him in the Gospels walking through the crowd that was trying to destroy Him. They could not touch Him until He allowed it as He took our sins on Himself to redeem us.

          Jesus qualified us to receive His blessing. We were not worthy but He paid the price to qualify us. So all the blessings of Deuteronomy 28 are ours because we are in Jesus, not because of what we do. We because Jesus’ righteousness in the new birth. That does not change when we sin. We need to totally see ourselves as the righteousness of God in Christ. We are qualified to receive the blessings because we are in Christ. Our works cannot make us righteous. When we sin and fall we need to go back to this truth of His righteousness within us. He is the one who will destroy sin in our lives as we receive His righteousness. Our sin is trying to fulfill a need apart from God. That then is an area where we have not believed the righteousness of God that belongs to us.
