Sanctified By His Word

Devotions:
“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.”
John 17:17-19 KJV
To be sanctified is to be holy. We were sent into the world in holiness, set free from those things that would destroy us, set apart unto God. Are you walking a sanctified life? A life set free from sin. Jesus did not say here that our sanctification comes from our own will power to put away sin. He said that it is the truth, the word of God that testifies of our salvation in the finished work of Jesus. This is another aspect of being transformed in our minds though the word. As we think so will we act. Jesu came to set us free from the bondage of sin, poverty. and sickness and disease. He came to destroy the works of the devil in our lives.
For this to happen our minds must be transformed by the word of God. As we spend time meditating in the word until it becomes a record in our life that we are set free. When bad financial times occur to us what comes out of our mouth? That reveals what we really think. If we praise God because we know that our God has blessed us and we cannot be cursed we free the angles of God to move on our behalf and turn things around.
We are set free because of the word of God in our hearts and on our life. We are to be free from sin. The temptation will still come but we take the sword of the Spirit and enforce the defeat of Satan in our lives. We are not victims but Victors in Christ Jesus.
