Fear Not

“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.” ‭Matthew‬ ‭10:28-31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus states earlier that that we are not to fear those who persecute us. We are not to worry about those who can do us bodily harm. The one we should be concerned with is God who can destroy soul and body in hell.

Sin has its roots deep in our soul. Even when we are born again, our souls are not transformed. Sin has totally saturated our being. We need to expose our minds to the Word of God through meditation in the Word of God. In Christ Jesus all our sins have been forgiven and removed. Therefore all reasons to punish us has been removed.

Jesus said that even the smallest and most common of birds do not fall to the ground without our Father being concerned about it. The very hairs of our head are numbered. No one knows the number of hairs on our head. If God is so concerned about us then we should have no fear. We are of more value than the sparrows. God so loves His creation and especially the humans that were created in His image and His likeness.
